Michael Kors New York Fashion Week 2018

Michael Kors went with their usual
theme of classic with a trendy edge during this year’s New York Fashion Week.
The brand kept their usual feminine
and soft silhouettes, but added exciting and interesting new twists.
One dress featured a classic
strapless silhouette with a slight dip at the neckline and ruffles at the hips
to add volume. This dress has been done a million times, but the pattern sets
it apart.
The dress was covered in pen-drawn
portraits of women. The black-on-white portraits were striking but what really
popped were the bright red lips painted onto some of the mouths.
This striking detail set the
classic, almost boring dress apart.
While most of the show featured
dresses and skirts, one unusual outfit featured a plaid suit.
But not any plaid suit.
The pants were blue and green
plaid, while the blazer was a rich red.
The plaid was paired with a mustard
yellow sweater with a white statement collar.
While the color combination sounds
like it would be awful, it worked.
With a brown purse and belt to tie
the look together, and give it some balance, the entire thing was well-executed.
While you probably won’t be wearing
the dress or the plaid ensemble to the office, they sure will make a statement.
