Madrid Fashion Week Street Style

As the Mercedes-Benz 2018 Madrid Fashion Week continues, the
runways keep flooding with new and unusual pieces.
But what’s going on outside in the streets?
Madrid street style featured one common factor: coats.
There was a variety of outerwear featured throughout the
streets of Madrid, providing an excess of inspiration.
One of the most common styles was the duster coat. The
long-line, calf-length or toe-length coats added a sophisticated touch to even
the simplest sweater and jeans pairing.
Or it provided length contrast with embroidered
mini-dresses.
The fur coat was also featured throughout the streets.
The trendy teddy bear coats were just as common throughout
the fashion-goers.
Some of the most striking fur coats were worn in colors of
burgundy and green.
The jewel tones complimented simple outfits or dressed up an
already fashionable outfit.
Always edgy, classic leather jackets continued to be a
staple for many people, as they were worn to grunge-down a trendy outfit or to
blend in with an all-black ensemble.
While the shows were full of unusual, eye-catching pieces,
audience members tended to keep it understated. There were less fashion-forward
outfits than what it usually expected during a fashion week.
This may have to do with the lower attendance in Madrid than
at most fashion week events.
Amid the exciting shows, the street style provided a
constant and trendy backdrop for the designs. While no one was striking a pose
on the streets, there were enough fashion statements happening on the runways
to make up for the slightly boring street style.
