ACM Awards: Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini’s performance of “I Hate Love Songs” at the Academy of Country Music awards featured a pretty significant outfit change.

She began with a princess-pink, sparkling gown as she floated down, sitting on a giant heart.

As she sang about how much she hates the clichés mentioned in love songs, she ripped off the dress and revealed a tank top and glittering leggings outfit with sneakers.

Both outfits fell flat for me.

The dress looked circa 2009 Taylor Swift and while that fit the song, it still didn’t have the wow factor that it could have had.

The athletic wear part of the song was just kind of awkward.

Being on stage at the ACM awards should warrant some kind of taste and respect.

It looked like Ballerini had just gotten back from the gym.

While it fits the tomboy-esque vibe of the song, it could have been done better.

It was far sloppier than it should have been.
