The Scary, Hairy Viral Video

We've all had disastrous haircuts. Whether we were five years old with a pair of safety scissors, standing on a stool by the bathroom mirror or sixteen trying to achieve the pixie cut look that Ashley Greene had in Twilight, we've all stared at pictures from our past and said "what was I thinking?"

This video brings those terrible haircuts to a whole new level.

A video posted on BarberShapp, an app that connects customers to barber shops in their area, has created quite a stir on Facebook.

The video has been shared millions of times since it's been posted and the comments section has been going crazy.

Analogies to the five year old with the safety scissors and just how impossible it is that this could ever become a trend.

Many people, including myself, are wondering why this video was ever posted to begin with. What is it about this hairstyle that makes it postable?

Maybe this video was created to promote expression. Maybe this is a celebration of the individual, the one who does not care what others think of her hair or her makeup. The one who is going to do totally strange and crazy things to her appearance to stand out and be noticed. The one who is completely herself every single day.

Most social media posts do not celebrate this person. This person is shoved away into the dark depth of Hot Topic and forgotten about or just ignored. This video celebrates the ostracized.

It also could just have been a barber who wanted to have a little weird fun and who wanted to create something so crazy and ugly that viewers had no choice but to share it.

But the celebration of the individual spin on it sounds much better.
