Review: Hourglass 1.5 MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner

Hourglass has created an unusual form of gel liner.

Most gel liners are sold in pots and used with an angled eyeliner brush. Hourglass's product is a bit different.

Instead of a pot, the gel liner has been put inside a mechanical pencil, like many kohl liners. This allows for the pigmented, long-wearing properties of gel liner to be used in a easier format.

Instead of dirtying a brush in order to shakily put on eyeliner, users can easily swipe the gel onto lids. It can ever be used in the waterline, something that was difficult, and potentially painful, with the traditional forms of gel liner.

Hourglass's gel liner is one of the blackest, most pigmented gel eyeliners I have ever tried. It goes on smoothly without pulling the eye at all. The gel in the tube is a tad drier than gel liner in pots, but it is still comfortable and the stiffness actually makes it easier to apply.

The longevity of the liner is impeccable. Even on the waterline, the liner stays put all day and only comes off with makeup remover. This is a pretty amazing feat for most eyeliners.

The Hourglass mechanical gel eye liner is the perfect replacement for pesky pot gel liners. It contains the same pigmentation and longevity, without the annoying pot format.
